IMO, all great writers are driven by their passion for a cause...Usually for the underdog,, A controlled rage to help..which is also known as politics.. that makes them want to put it in words.. The critics recognize this and follow that lead..

If a person is "fat and happy" There is no drive to change. That is why, IMO, most great writers tend to be left wing..
