Amy, on buying houses the Santa Clara Valley, most people I know put down a very large amount, quite often all the equity profit they got from selling their previous house. If they bought at practically any time since the early 70s and kept their house for at least five years, they'd have to have refinanced and thrown money away to not make a tidy sum. To be specific, I know people that have put down half the selling price of their new (to them) house. On another subject, beware of the "I love You" virus. I had an email with that in the title this morning, immediately deleted it. On another subject, Network Associates, OUCH! Just a comment, don't own any. The good old SJ Mercury news Business section headlines were NETWORK ASSOCIATES EXECS EXODUS. Do you think Ellen Hancock and the other folks at Exodus cringed when they saw that headline?
