johnd, how about Windows 2000 64 bit server, aka Datacenter, aka Whistler must be sucking up a lot of R&D costs. Improving scalability, availability, RAS ,and suopporting >8 servers (32, 64), > 4 GB memory with Whistler takes a lot of SW folks, I guess. Maybe Microsoft is betting the company, going after Sun big time. Problem is all this probably doesn't start shipping in volume until McKinley is in production in 2002. Tony
