Tuck and Richard..

They would make a good fit for several companies and would be a good bargain even with a hefty premium from today's $4.

I agree that MCDE is a *very* likely buyout candidate in the near future. The real question is if the shareholders get $6/share in the form of cash or stock when it occurs. But if you were on the opposite side of MCDE on the negotiating table, I'm sure you'd be using "we'll see what the market does to your stock as you burn up the cash..." as a negotiating tactic.

I like your short term trading plan, however. Seems reasonable.

Biotechs that missed the bubble this spring to finance are munch candidates for the ones who did not.

This is why the only biotechnology companies which I am currently invested in are the ones that did. Besides for the usual suspects which I don't like (mainly HGSI, MLNM and CRA), other cash rich biotechs are in excellent positions to execute their plans.. I find it amazing that Abgenix has over 3/4 of a billion cash in the bank.. with only a hundred employees, that's a Ferrari for each of them with plenty of cash to spare.. (speaking of which, ABGX bought a bit of IMGN stock..)

Another cash-rich biotech which I like is Transkaryotic.. if the stock gets any lower due to this AMGN lawsuit (without the actual verdict being released), I just might take the plunge and buy a small position... I recall the Motley Fool saying that buying such a company would be stupid, which validates TKTX as a good risky investment.
