Ingenious I am not retired, I opened a resteraunt, and am building a new venture as we speak. I agree That retirement is overated. Having the freedom and finances to do what you want is not. As for the market I couldnt disagree with you more. The underlying Foundation of our economy is a mess. There is huge consumer, and corporate debt. There are still valuation issues within NAz wherin the PE is still 90. This is about 30% Above the norm. The growth in our economy over the last few years was a result of a very bad monetary policy that pumped huge amounts of dollars into the world economy. The Amount of dollars in the world flow is up 200% in the last 5 years. This unprecedented growth in money is very debilitating and created the illusion of massive growth. In reality this money pumped into the system was mis managed and used to increase asset values and thrown at worthless telecom projects and Inuts. There have been real strides in the economy in Optics, mobile ETC but the cycle has run its course for now. Until 3G and new aplications are created to start a new cycle we need to wash out the speculation. There are also the issue of the value of the dollar, if it falls and inflation rises it will tie the feds hands as well. I am not saying that the fed cant pull off a soft landing I am just sceptical that they will. JMHO
