From CBS MarketWatch: According to a company statement, the e-tailer shipped 31 million units from Nov. 2 to Dec. 23. During the 1999 holiday season, Amazon (AMZN: news, msgs) shipped about 20 million units during Nov. 10 through Dec. 23. The on-time rate was slightly below this year's rate, but above 99 percent. www2.marketwatch.com If these figures are correct, that is a 50% increase in number of items shipped which would correspond to sales of around $950 million to a $1 billion...
