If fiber is like Dell, it is like Dell in July 1996.

I got a cable modem two years ago. Last month I got a router and switch and set up a home network with three computers, soon to be four. Now everyone in the family is pulling up high bandwidth content instead of watching TV. As far as I'm concerned, high bandwidth internet is the biggest advance since the hard drive. I can buy almost anything on the internet. I researched my wife's mini-van and bought it on the internet. Bought all of my Christmas presents on the internet this year. On the internet, I can research products much more thoroughly than in any store. I can preview the music on any album, read book reviews, research any subject, do stock research that used to take days in minutes. I look forward to being able to listen to radio programs and watch TV programs and movies when I want to. I suspect I will be working from my home a couple of days per week by the end of next year. All because of high bandwidth internet. What is the penetration of high bandwidth internet today? 5%? Sounds like an opportunity to me.
