I believe that by the end of this q4, all PMs in Tempe and Palo Alto will be capable of operating at or near design capacity. The company remains production constrained for XIR film, which mgt. claims has in the range of a 40% gross margin. Thus the company would appear to have the potential to be quite profitable in 2001--even with ongoing startup costs in Germany.

SWTX mgt. may not have foreseen the pricing environment for AR film when it purchased PM5. Given the falling price of monitors, I would assume that manufacturers are putting great pressure on their suppliers to reduce prices of the components used in monitors.
