AOL, Time Warner review may continue into 2001 - WSJ

NEW YORK, Dec 27 (Reuters) - The Federal Communications Commission will likely extend its
review of the proposed merger between America Online Inc (NYSE:AOL - news) and Time
Warner Inc (NYSE:TWX - news) into early 2001, the Wall Street Journal said in its online
edition on Thursday, citing agency employees.

The extension will cause the FCC to miss its self-imposed deadline of finishing its review by
December 31, and cost both companies additional expenses, the paper said.

Shares of AOL, which agreed to merge with Time Warner in January, closed off $2.75 at $35.75 in Wednesday trading on
the New York Stock Exchange. Time Warner shares finished off $4.75 at $53.50 in NYSE trading.
