Pru cuts IBM revenue number
--7:46 am - By Susan Lerner
Shares of IBM fell $2.19 in Instinet pre-market trading after Prudential Securities analyst Kimberly Alexy cut her fourth quarter revenue estimate to $24.5 billion from $25.3 billion. Alexy blamed expected weakness in the company's PC, HDD and software business for the shortfall, noting that the software business had failed to snap back as a result of continued pressures in the company's Tivoli business. Alexy said she believes the company's near-term trading range is about $85 to $110 but longer term the multiple may contract further if revenue growth continues to disappoint.
