SunAmerica's Gannon Sees Market
Improvement In 2001

NEW YORK -- Frank Gannon, portfolio manager at SunAmerica, sees the
market improving in the coming year, with no threat of a recession.

During a CNBC interview Thursday, Gannon, whose company is a unit of
American International Group (AIG), urged investors to buy into financial,
health-care and some technology companies.

In the technology sector, Gannon sees wireless companies doing well. He
worries that those who invest in pharmaceutical companies might revert to
technology stocks because pharmaceuticals have been so defensive.

Gannon's top picks include Chase Manhattan Corp.(CMB), Qualcomm
Inc. (QCOM) and Waste Management Inc. (WMI).

Gannon doesn't expect the Federal Reserve will do anything in the way of
interest rates before its meeting in late January. He also believes the Fed will
move interest rates down by as much as 100 basis points by the first half of
2001.
