Phew. Without knowing too much about the specifics of various energy sources, I'd also come to the conclusion that the large-scale abandonment of Nuclear power sources in the 80's had hamstringed us (or is it "hamstrung"?<g>)

Here in New England, there are still regular protests against the use of nuclear energy. I've never completely understood the reason...
