Long term rate is 20% for both 2000 and 2001. In 2001, if you are in the 15% bracket (very few serious investors are), the rate drops to 18%.
For all other brackets, the new rate is 18% for assets that are acquired after 2000 and that are held at least 5 years. Otherwise, it's the same old 20%.
