Hi Poet,

I'm afraid I'm not going to be of much help to you regarding options. My views of the trading of them is akin to those of Warren Buffett. And Frank Partnoy:

I'd be most interested in an informed opinion, believe me. :)
I don't have one. I have merely the basic sense that the "options game" is not designed to benefit 1)society 2) the retail investor or 3) the stability of the underlying markets (http://www.petroleumworld.com/story1800.htm).
The options game was/is designed by the unscrupulous to take advantage of the unwary, the pathological gamblers and as Partnoy points out, those who seek to evade regulation.

If you would care to discuss the demise of LTCM and its implications for the world's capital markets, I'd be inclined to share some views. If, OTOH, you seek any insights I might have into why a mouse is going to get you in trouble, I'd advise you that I take seriously the recent master's thesis from a UChicago student who miked the CBOE and positively correlated the dB level with pending news announcements. If that's too obscure, I can amplify my comment. :)
