Is it true that MSFT actually paid TDM to port this software to NT?

A rhetorical question. TDM says that 90% of stock transactions,
2/3 of credit card transactions, and 80% ATM transactions use TDM
servers. How can a company have an installed base like this and not
make a lot more money than they do (eg nothing totol in 1990 decade)?
Wouldn't you think that someone else maybe could leverage this asset
of such an installed base and make a lot more money with it? Someone
like IBM maybe?

I think MSFT will be pitching their Transaction Server product against
the NonStop product (uses TUXEDO, right?).
