Hi Michael,

I am not sure "ignoring the customer" is the right thing to do in any business. The Innovator's Dilemma talked about how focusing too much on the customer is not always the right thing to do, but does this rule apply to Ariba Marketplace? In Christensen's examples of making smaller and costlier disk drives, there were always the return in weight and power, which were required by mobile computers. I would say that the B2B evolution might compare to the migration path of disk drives. But Ariba is just one of the many companies doing B2B. With first hand experience, I have to say that Ariba not only has less leverage than i2 and Oracle, but its Marketplace 7.2 also doesn't work.

I have not finished reading The Innovator's Dilemma, so my usage of its theory may be wrong. I apologize for this.
