Actually, I don't understand why Qualcomm would partner with VIA, AMD or Intel. They already have an agreement with SSTI for embedded flash. They don't build PDA's, handsets or computers, so why would they need one of those power hungry processors from AMD, Intel or VIA.

VIA makes lots of bus/memory interface chipsets for computers. That's great, but so what? The way I see it, unless someone has a technology that Qualcomm may want to integrate into their wireless chipsets, there doesn't seem to be an obvious reason for a partnership.
