Asia Pulse reports KDDI will deploy Japan's first domestic network based on Nortel Networks OPTera Long Haul 1600 Optical Line System, a multiservice, ultra-high capacity, 10-gigabit dense wavelength division multiplexing [DWDM] solution. Nortel's system will allow KDDI to consolidate the nationwide network created by the merger of carriers DDI (DDIC: news, msgs), IDO and KDD in October of this year.
