Portugal has picked Siemens, Alcatel and Ericsson as main suppliers to its UMTS network,

(News agency Direkt) -- Portugal Telecom`s mobile unit TMN has picked Siemens, Alcatel and Ericsson as main suppliers to its UMTS network, according to a press statement from the company.

The core network will be installed by Siemens while all three suppliers have received access network orders. The network is iexpected to be up and running on December 1 next year.
