PC Sales Up On Increased Internet Use

The Korea IDC, a research institute specializing in the IT sector, released an analysis of the domestic PC market Wednesday projecting sales this year to grow by a whopping 73.6% as compared to last year. Also, domestic companies' sales revenue for PCs is expected to reach W5.6069 trillion, a 68.4% increase. This year's sharp rise is thought to be due to general consumers' increased PC purchase with the spread of Internet use and PC demands by venture start-ups. However, while the sales of PCs rose 117% during the first half of this year compared to the same period last year, growth is expected to decrease by 7.8% in the second half showing an overall increase of 42.6% compared to the same period last year.
