It was also noted that this was generally not a competitive issue, but was an issue of weakening demand for all players in the industry.

I beg to differ. I was told at least 9 months ago, I believe at InterOp in Atlanta, that Extreme Networks was eating Foundry's lunch. I've not compared the two but would welcome comments from those who know both companies.
