Dear Gemini: When I was a teenager I watered Orange groves BY HAND for 50 cents an hour. If that aint cheap AND slave labor I dont know what is. haha. Frankly, I'd rather pick cotton. JDN

Some of the most deprived are the migrant farm workers. They work long, hard hours for very low pay. Much of their work is stoop labor in the fields. Their living conditions are comparable to those of slavery. But unlike slaves, they must continue to look for the next miserable job. I know of an individual, who is into farming, that imports workers from Mexico annually to do this type of work.

Btw, I did just enough of this growing up to know how tough the work is. What was troublesome was the adults doing this kind of work just to survive. It is a an extremely tough way to make a living.
