The other side of the story. The Irish in the Confederacy. I seem to remember there was one battle where an Irish regiment from the Union fought against an Irish regiment from the Confederacy.

Plus, they said that the American's were very untrusting of the Irish people and treated them with contempt.
Ah, yes. "No Irish Need Apply".
Your ancestors and mine got off their butts, got to work, and took care of that problem. And they did it without affirmative action.
