sOUNDS AS IF YOU HAD SOME EXPERTISE somewhere along the way. Don't know where you are or what the rules are there but if your Municipality requires Inspection and approval make sure you follow through, or it could come back and haunt you. Things are really tough up here in Canada that way. Had a friend who was sued recently because of changes to his house by a previous owner, without Inspection, and which didn't come to light until my friend sold the house again after about 15 years, and the hew owner sued, and won. Life is just a bowl of cheries until you meet up with a shit head. Lots of Luck.
