Dear Don: I dont know, but here is how we watered orange groves MANUALLY in my day. A pickup truck was parked in the MIDDLE of a row of orange trees. I have forgotten but lets say a line of trees was something like 100 yards. This pickup had big vats of water containers in its bed. You had two BIG water cans (not like around the house I would estimate about 10 gal. each (I think water weighs about 7# per gallon). You had a wooden stick across your neck with one of those filled cans on each end. Then you stumbled out to the end of the row in the Fla. SUGAR SAND, knelt down and put 1/2 a can on each tree (you could water 4 trees). Then you went back to the truck, refilled your containers and started aknew. You did this from dawn to dusk in the hot sun, soft sand and carrying 140pounds or so on the out trip. Thats how I earned 50 cents an hour. JDN
