Anindo, i never looked at DYN, but CPN is one i own puts on, and unfortunately, yes, it does profit from the situation, greatly! i bought the puts because of its aggressive accounting practices, but obviously nothing untoward has thus far materialized, and i now wish i had gone long instead. their last earnings report contained no hidden time bombs as far as i could tell, it was a rather convincing result in fact.

still, one needs to keep in mind that CPN has made Paul Berliner's list of suspect accounting practices, so there is certainly some risk associated with it. but you are correct, the power shortage is a boon for them.
