I have a question for all the network gurus here. The major cost and cause of delay for DSL or cable modem is deployment. For example, I am willing to pay for $40/month for high-speed internet at home, but I don't have time to take a day off work and wait for installation. Looking at the Covad trucks or RoadRunner trucks driving around, I think it's quite funny: a low-tech help for a high-tech world. Why can't DSL or cable modem self-install like 56k modem?
