The problem with expanding PC sales in China are several, and large. Government regulation (read: interference), power (quality and availability), and available cash on the part of the consumers are but three. Legend has apparently hit a target price below the magic line of about US$ 500, and so they are doing well. Dell hasn't gotten there yet, but may do so very soon. A while back they set up a Customer Center in Beijing, and they certainly see China as a key market with untapped potential.

I haven't seen any notices that Dell intends to build there, however. Any other computer assemblers going into the mainland?

Mitch
