I believe copper or coax simply doesnt transmit as fast as fiber."

Interesting point. Do you mean 'fast?' Or, do you mean higher througput [per unit time] carrying capability?

Does anyone here know the relative speeds of electron flow over copper and photonic propagation over fiber?

I mean, assume you have both media types connecting Town A and Town B, 5 miles apart. Assume that you do not need amplification or regeneration to send a pulse between these two points.

You launch a pulse on both, simultaneously, from Town A. Which pulse gets to Town B first? The pulse carried by copper, or the pulse carried by glass?

Which is faster? Hey?
