Hi John, RE: "Hard to believe, but it looks like Intel will close 2000 below where it traded in the 4th quarter of 1998."

Amazing. I joined SI around Jan 99 and INTC was to be a safe harbor, away from MSFT during the trials, and was to provide the stability to help me be able to launch our startup, which it did.

Now my world has flipped - INTC is in the dog house and the startup is holding me up.

But one or two good things came out of this up/down (aside from some painful lessons). Back in Aug-98 my car started to break down, which was about the same time Nasdaq, MS and INTC dived, so I didn't sell any stock. Finally, around Q4-99, my auto mechanic told me I really needed to get a new car and folks started complaining about my car, so I finally got one, when the stock was up. My first new car - I've always had a used car.

RE: "Two years of appreciation, gone. Tough year, 2000."

Just wish I would have put some in cash, or put more in our startup, or bought some things. I cringe when I look at what was wiped out. Yeah, it was a tough year.

But it sure was fun too - while it lasted. (At least we all do have 2X's more shares because of the split.)

And I've really enjoyed SI over the past 2 years and chatting with everyone here.

Regards,
Amy J
