This week's Business Week describes SonicBlue as an "upstart" in the digital music player market, which they project to grow to $1 billion in sales in the next year. They further say that last year only 5 companies sold digital music players and now 50 do. Dell & Compaq are already selling them (is Dell's made by SBLU?). And Intel is planning to offer one.

As flash memory capacity increases and price decreases this could be a much larger market due to the devices compactness and durability, i.e. you can jar them while working out. Will they have enough capacity for video in the near future?

I love my Rio 500. I just wish the add on 32 meg chip was still available.
