I have great respect and admiration for Thomas Friedman. He is certainly an optimist! I am not sure how these "grocers", armed to the teeth and impassioned by religious fervor, will arrive at "sale" terms. Prime Minister Barak has been over backwards here,and I think it is being interpreted as weakness. I agree with Friedman that we do not understand the psychology of the region, which makes navigation in the area difficult.
