Great questions you've been posting.

I'd like to know the answers too - 'cause I sorta feel that we've gotten blindsided - this realization has occurred in just the last 4 to 6 weeks for me. Q's preferred flavor really has seemed to gotten painted into a corner, while the "BS"CDMA appears to be gathering strength and momentum. GPRS and EDGE were supposedly vaporware, yet they're announcing GPRS contracts left and right throughout the world.

The only consolation I make myself feel better with us we've got a sizable value chain who have already signed umts licenses with Q and umts appears to be ready much sooner than most thought.

That 80% of the world that Q was locked out of is now opening up and revenues should start ramping soon.

So my question is...if umts is indeed ready to go, how will this translate into earnings for Q from 2001 to 2004?

If revenues and earnings start ramping hard and fast, and continue that way for a few years, let some of the carriers pacify themselves with GPRS for a year or two. When they're done driving the 'scenic route' (I loved that simile you used) we'll be there, waiting for them.

When I invested in Q last year, I told myself I was gonna do nothing til '05 anyway, so I'm just gonna enjoy the boat ride, (but vigilantly watch for rocks and sharks along the way)
