Hello, I have been long QCOM since 1997 and lurking here since then. To make up for lost time, I will try to post something of substance. Has anyone here heard of a IP based wireless solution called SWIFTcomm from Mitsubishi Materials Corporation? They are claiming mobile wireless data capability of 20Mbps, at one tenth cost of 3G. They claim it is based on IPMA (Internet Packet Multiple Access - just when you thought you've heard it all) which is supposedly independent of CDMA and does not require the power control. The web site is www.swiftcom.net. Perhaps one of the more technically inclined posters like Engineer can give there opinion on this. I am an engineer, but not RF so I can't make any judgements. I tend not to worry about day to day developments and take a long term view with qcom but I think any technology investor has to watch for major changes, not saying this is one.
