-Dow will close 2001 around 10,800, but it will visit 8800 once
-Naz will close 2001 around 4350, but will see 2300 again
-SPX will close 2001 around 1430, but will see 1280 again
-CSCO will not miss earnings
-Fed will decrease rates rates by 50BPs, once in January (25 bp), once in March (25 bp).
-Capex spending slowdown will be found to be not as severe as earlier thought
-It will become obvious that many of the earnings warnings seen in Q4 2000 were companies lower expectations so that they would provide upside surprises. For many companies, Q4 2000 will be seen as a way to cleanse the books.
-Natural Gas will end up being the best short of the year 2001
-Gold will not go above 290/oz
-Copper prices will fall dramatically as it is becomes obvious that fiber will be deployed all the way to the home.
-Madonna will become pregnant with her third child in the fall of 2001.
-The market will have a 15% correction in March in anticipation of tax related stock selling.
-Silicon Investor will be spun off as an IPO from INSP.
-B2B sector will be strong
-Networking sector will be strong
-Dotcoms will continue to be weak
-Bricks and mortar shops that transitioned to a "clicks and mortar" model will be strong (WMT)
-INTC EOY price $50
-MSFT EOY price $60
-GLW EOY price $90
-QCOM EOY price $95
-Less than 50% of these predictions will come true.
