01/01/01, what a great date. A lot of people will have that as their birthday. That's a good one to have. Easy to remember. I just wanted to write it too, hence this post.
I enjoyed writing 2000 this year, though it didn't last long so I didn't get much practise. There is something nice about a lot of zeroes.
We'll also get 10/11/01 which is a palindrome date. That will be confusing because the USA, for some weird reason, puts the month first and then the day, whereas most humans put the day, then the month then the year. But in the USA I heard they are so last century that they still use pounds, hundredweight, stones, inches, feet, yards, chains, miles, rods, acres, Fahrenheit, gallons, pints, quarts, barrels, poundals, slugs and probably pecks, bushels, furlongs, perches, grains and drams which I can't fathom. So 10/11/01 could lead to confusion. That's 10 November folks! NOT 11 October. Americans will be celebrating a month ahead of the rest of the world.
In 8 hours, it will be the 21st century here. There don't seem to be many celebrations planned around the world for the beginning of the next billion years. To celebrate, we could start the calendar again at 1 which would save on printer's ink. It would give the feeling of a new start, which would be quite a nice thing to have.
See you all next millennium - I wonder if the sky will be green or anything different from today.
