Re: what would drive AMD above $20 a share?

If they make a little money this quarter and next (as opposed to being "roadkill") a stunned wall street may bid AMD up quite a bit.

If they want to keep AMD out and are willing to take the financial hit they will succeed.

If Intel, with its costs, even matches prices with AMD, they will be facing bankruptcy in a year or so. Do the math - 145 million processors times a decrease in average selling price from $180 to $80 is a decrease in revenue of $14.5 Billion with no decrease in costs.

Intel's P3 cost a little less to make than AMD's Athlon. Intel's P4 costs about 4 times as much to produce as AMD's Athlon.

And AMD can make a lot of money with $80 ASPs.
