re: increased productivity.
The below is a post I just made on the buffalo thread. The snip was from an article on p2p which at one time I though could very well be the next big thing. Groove and Napster both of those are what to watch in the p2p space. The FED took away the capital that was accelerating pace of the role out. Now I'm worried about innovated content to fill up the bandwidth whenever it really becomes like tap water. Think of the great minds that have been discourage. No wonder CEO after CEO, along with other minions, have been quitting in droves.
re: <<With tens of thousands of people using the internet every day, and the wider availability of high-bandwidth connections, many types of device can conceivably work together as a single distributed system. The whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts, much like bees in a hive, capable of contributing all or part of their resources to a much greater purpose.>>
I mere 12 months ago we where going to change the world. Billions of connected devices and the necessary infrastructure was being planed and the wheels were in motion to make it happen. Sadly, the line in bold has been delayed, by doing so, the revolution, the vision we used to call the net also has been delayed . . What's worse rouge ideas such as napsters have been and are still being assimilated by the powers to be. The net and it's fish bowl cams have gone corporate, main stream, and have been forced in to being cyclical in nature. All they had to do was let it run free, let it run wild, it would of taken care of the excess in due time. But no, lets slow something down that should of been feed so it could innovate it's way through all obstacles, not starved and stymied, and forced to obey. |
