I feel fortunate to have made it out of the Big Apple before the snow hit. I actually stayed on Times Square, at the Double Tree Suites, but to have stayed through the New Year would have not only added to the bill, but the room rates would have a gone through the roof. Besides, I got so bitten by the bitter cold, I would not have stood outside for the ball any length of time anyway, and I have already seen Dick Clark in person once last year......... Glad you caught Mean Streets. I think it is one of the best things Scorsese ever did, and one of Keitel's best performances. My wife got us a copy of Gladiator, among other things, for DVD. That is one of the best movies of this Oscar year. I hope it is not overlooked.........
