That analysis is so bogus it barely deserves acknowledgement.

It does not even consider the fact that the election was called early suppressing the vote in the panhandle. Estimates run from 5000 to 10,000 net GWB votes.

It assumes that vast majority of no votes really were votes. The fact that that is untrue is undisputed. Then when challenged, the statistician says well if 10% of the no votes were votes, Gore wins by 1400 votes. This percent is still too high statewide, (the Palm Beach canvassing board has deemed that only about 5 percent of the undervote ballots actually have markings clear enough to indicate a vote) , but even so, take it and use the low number from the panhandle, Gore looses.

It does not consider the additional military vote, that was illegally suppressed.

It does not consider the 445 known illegal votes.

Then, later that same month, analysis from the Miami Herald says that Gore most likely comes up short.

KNIGHT RIDDER NEWSPAPERS

MIAMI -- With less than 48 hours to go before the final vote tally deadline, a Miami Herald analysis of the manual recount so far suggests that Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore will fall short of overcoming Republican George W. Bush's lead in Florida by the narrowest of margins -- perhaps as little as 30 votes.

The article and analysis is selective in the glitches it attempts to correct for. There can be no reliability in that analysis. The only faith in this article comes from desperate democrats.

It is totally bogus.
