rf_hombre: How about it.. Any applications for 300kbs mobile data rates in the more Wireless Savey Western Europe? How about those 3G auctions? There seems to have been a lull in the excitement over the auctions?

Heck, here in the states it seems as though 2.5 G is where the money is being spent. 1X upgrades for PCS and VZ, and TDMA to GSM upgrades for AWE and Cingular. Things are not sounding so rosy for the Q either!! With Cingular and AWE both migrating to GSM/EDGE/GPRS. It seems as though the Scandinavian's have successfully put a big bullet hole in the CDMAOne/2000 boat.. As I have speculated all along.. The whole WCDMA specter was created to put a hault to the CDMAOne conversion by current TDMA/Amps operators. And with QCOM "way ahead in ASIC, GPSOne, RadioOne arena".. No need to push WCDMA anymore.. They will just put it on the backburner until they can play catch up with QCOM.. Or until they can amass enough IPR to claim we don't need QCOM IPR anymore.. After all, those CDMA patents have assigned to the Euro consortium have been flying out of the Patent Office of late! They might be able to tie it up in the courts for years!! After all, they just want to screw QCOM anyway... No reason to think they are going to just give up at this juncture!!!! Or maybe they will just buy them if their stock gets punished!!

No it appears their stance is... Better to stick with 2.5G GSM/GPRS where they have IPR rights, and a Big Market share.. They will just sit back and deny QCOM IPR for GSM/GPRS! WCDMA... No Thanks.. We are just fine with 2.5G!!! For a couple of more years!!!
