The sad fact is that the FED is insulated by law and are actually manipulating the financial markets.

Haim, I understand that view, but it seems to me that it's a different kind of manipulation. It's a very "macro" manipulation...make sure there's enough rope lying around so the clowns can find it and hang themselves. But that seems a very different thing than actually *telling* somebody, in so many words, that such-and-such an investment is good when they know it's bad. I don't know how you could make any kind of case that manipulation at that level, which is the Fed's job after all, qualifies under existing laws as securities fraud. You can just say the Fed isn't doing its job well, so let's get all new Fed governors.
