Hi GZ Precisely. We can't be sure there's been a top until we are a lot past it. That's why there are so many "failed formations". Traders have to take a bet that the formation will play the way they hope and get out if it doesn't. I use chart patterns, stochastics etc. myself together with FA. We didn't know till a year or two later that 1987 wasn't a major top ushering in a prolonged bear market. David
