Poet, this is the kind of self-interest that is rumbling around under the surface, I think. My in-laws, with finite resources, gave to charities for Christmas in our name. I like it. At the same time it is not a gift from us to a charity. They are also traveling a ton, which is also nice. But it shows less interest in passing on security to progeny. It's their money and right. I just notice the change in emphasis I think in part because it looks like everything is going to be o.k. for the kids.
