Techplayer, my interpretation here is that the position of the 'commercials' is most important only in an overall sense. What I have learned from the 'commercial' positions of the past in commodities of all types, is that the worst damage (in this case to equities) will occur only as they seriously start to unwind their short positions, and by the time they are neutral, all the damage will have already been done ... in short, as hard as it is to believe, most of the serious damage is not done yet.
The fact that the Small Traders have covered a significant amount of their short positions may actually be bearish for equities.
