Because they are lumped together with all semiconductor stocks, and because of the suspicion that the combination of capacity coming online over the next year and softening demand will lead to falling prices and a cyclical glut.

Whether that will occur or not is the question to be answered over the next 3-9 months. I still believe that many of the stocks--including companies like Sandisk and SST--have been oversold. Even way oversold. But, as some fine souls will hasten to remind me I'm sure, that is as par for the course as becoming way overbought in good times.
