That interview was a good example of one of the underlying problems.
The woman from GTE said, "I truly believe there's a pent-up demand for bandwidth I don't think we had 10 years ago with ISDN, or five years ago with ATM, or six years ago with SMDS. What we have today is the exploding growth on the Internet.

What an amazing grasp for the obvious!!!
This is the type of person that these companies are trying to sell there wares too.
Clueless. No wonder ISDN was a flop!

I DID like the way ADSL was described as the solution for "the gap between 56k and T1".
Notice they didn't say the gap from 28.8 or 33.6, BUT 56k!
Looks like it's part of the vocabulary now.<G>
