>> Yahoo's pe far exceeds their forward growth rate -- what is your basis for believing they can hold there own in a downturn? <<

How do you know what YHOO's forward growth will be? Just as expectations were totally out of whack last year on the upside, perhaps they have switched to overly pessimistic on the downside.

>> What is an appropriate pe for yahoo? 20? 40? 60? 80? 100? <<

You tell me. You seem to have all the answers!

>> Do bear markets have a "January effect"? <<

Sure. There are plenty of examples where markets sold down hard into the end of the year only to see a nice bounce in January.

>> Inflows? What inflows? Please quanitify this unfounded statement. The trend is to outflows. What basis do you have for saying there will be inflows? <<

There have been plenty of inflows into safe areas such as bonds and money markets. It is not unreasonable to think that money could flow out of those areas and into beaten down areas such as tech in the new year.

Prove it. <<

By the time you see the proof it will be kind of late. By the time you actually see an upturn in tech spending and a visible recovery the stocks will have already made big gains. You have to buy when the situation still looks dire.
