I'd say it's more about valuation, at 84 BRCM is still sporting a mc of 20B and a pe of 200, not cheap by any standards. PMCS has a mc of 13B and a pe of 243, and the crown jewel AMCC has a mc of 22B and a pe of 324.

At this point theres a good case for more downward pressure on all 3 stocks. Much of AMCC rise last week was due to them being added to the S & P 500 I really don't think the 40's are out of the question with this one. I'm looking for the 50's in BRCM, and PMCS. This is all based on the fact of the NASDAQ continuing it's loosing ways...

Had you shorted PMCS and BRCM 3 weeks ago you'd have done well. siliconinvestor.com
