Dear Ish: You volunteered?? My admiration for you grows!!! I of course volunteered also (Marines to my knowledge havent drafted since WWII). However, I was in the earlier part of the conflict and although the memory grows dim with time I dont recall the public being so against the war at that time. I know I was VERY disappointed later with antics by Jane Fonda and college kids who had NO IDEA the sacrifices made by their peers for the USA. My position was then and is now, once the USA commits itself, rightly or wrongly, the populance should support the troops in the field, NO MATTER WHAT. The key is for the leaders to be very careful about committing. JDN
